UPCOMING EVENTS

  • PARENT MEETING: Wednesday, July 25, 4:30-5:30pm @ FEELC Courtyard
    Please join us for this important meeting in which we will be holding elections for TWO Parent Board positions. We will also discuss the Parent Survey results. Following our meeting, we hope you'll join us for some community time at our Summer Splash party (details below).
  • SUMMER SPLASH PARTY: Wednesday, July 25, 5:30-7:30pm @ FEELC Courtyard (held after the PARENT MEETING)
    Beat the summer heat and have some fun with your FEELC friends at our Summer Splash party! We will have water play activities and food catered from Bandido’s. We hope to see you there!

Meal cost: $8/adult, $4/non-FEELC child, FREE for FEELC enrolled children. Includes tacos (grilled veggies/ground beef/chipotle chicken), refried beans, Spanish rice, chips, salsa, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream.

Sign-up & Payment: Please sign up at the front desk kiosk and provide payment in the form of a check made payable to "First Environments Parents Organization" by COB July 20, 2018. Note: Food will only be ordered based on the payments received.

SWAP BOX THEMES

JULY:  Beach and swimming gear

AUGUST: Sports gear (e.g., cleats, dance shoes, leotards, shin guards)

SEPTEMBER: Baby and maternity/nursing gear (e.g., diaper bags, baby bottles, wipes containers, potty seats, maternity clothes, nursing tanks)

OCTOBER: Winter weather clothing (e.g., outerwear, hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants)

WHAT IS SWAP BOX? The concept is simple and open to all FEELC parents, children, and staff: a different theme is chosen for each month and everyone is given the opportunity to clear out any good condition items that your family may have outgrown but could be used in a classroom or by another family. On the THIRD WEEK of the month, teachers get first dibs to go through the box to choose items for their classrooms. During the LAST WEEK of the month, parents, kids, and staff can look for any "new" items they might bring home. On the LAST DAY of the month, all items are donated to a local charity and the process starts over the following month. Hope you can participate!

REMINDERS

  • PARKING
    For the safety of all of our children and families, First Environments must insist that you do not leave your car running in the parking lot at arrival or pick-up. Please refer to the Parking section of the Parent Handbook for more information.
  • ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE SUPERVISION
    As a reminder, children can never be left unaccompanied during either morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up. Please make sure your child is with you at all times and is not in the lobby, hallways, classrooms, or playground areas without your supervision. It is for the safety and security of the children that the state of North Carolina has established these policies for our school, and we appreciate your help with this.
  • HOT WEATHER RESTRICTIONS

When the Heat index is 95 – 99 degrees:

  - Infants – No outside time
  - Toddlers – 20 minutes
  - Middlers, Preschool, and Pre K – 30 minutes

When the Heat index is 100 degrees and higher:

  - No Outside Play for all children

Volunteer Opportunities

  • NEW JOB BOARD FOR PARENT HOURS
    Come one.....come all!! A new board has been created to post jobs that need to be done in our outdoor areas that parents can do for parent hours. The board is located in the main hallway on the left side after the garbage/recycling cans.  Here are more directions and details about the jobs and what to do. Please come see it and consider helping out!

  • Feel free to check with your classroom teachers anytime for additional volunteer opportunities.
