Does anyone have old or unused Legos at home?  If so, we would love to take them off your hands! The KCamp and PreK want to make little nap time boxes with activities inside and we are looking to add legos to them. Please stop by the front desk if you have any to donate. Thanks!

ATTENTION: Current FEELC Parents. Please submit your responses by Monday, June 25, 2018. Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback!

FEELC is conducting an anonymous Self-Assessment Parent Survey as part of our ongoing efforts for continuous improvement. Family perspectives are essential to understanding the needs and satisfaction of our community so we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The first part of the survey (questions 1-24) is based on the the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation survey questions. We have also included additional FEELC generated questions to help further inform us of any areas that may need improvement.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL QUESTIONS: For the purposes of this survey, please base your answers on your previous classroom experience (especially for those who recently moved up to a different classroom).

Interested in getting more involved at First Environments? We will be holding elections for two positions on the FEELC Parent Board this July. We alternate elections so that we never have an entirely new board.  Two slots are open this year and three will be open next year. Serving on the Board is an opportunity to get involved with our center and help make this school the best it can be!!

Membership on the Parent Board requires a certain level of time commitment. We have a one hour-long meeting per month, dialogue in between meetings as needed, and involvement in additional activities related to specific Board duties.  Learn more about the Parent Board here.

Anyone interested in running for a board position and who has been at FEELC for the minimum of one year, is welcome to contact Sania Tong Argao ( or Beth Lake ( to talk about this great opportunity. If you are interested, please submit your bio to Sania or Beth by June 29, 2018. We will share them with the parent community prior to elections in July 2018.

JUNE: Books, games, and puzzles (complete game/puzzle sets only please)

JULY:  Beach and swimming gear

AUGUST: Sports gear (e.g., cleats, dance shoes, leotards, shin guards)

SEPTEMBER: Baby and maternity/nursing gear (e.g., diaper bags, baby bottles, wipes containers, potty seats, maternity clothes, nursing tanks)

OCTOBER: Winter weather clothing (e.g., outerwear, hats, gloves, scarves, snow pants)

WHAT IS SWAP BOX? The concept is simple and open to all FEELC parents, children, and staff: a different theme is chosen for each month and everyone is given the opportunity to clear out any good condition items that your family may have outgrown but could be used in a classroom or by another family. On the THIRD WEEK of the month, teachers get first dibs to go through the box to choose items for their classrooms. During the LAST WEEK of the month, parents, kids, and staff can look for any "new" items they might bring home. On the LAST DAY of the month, all items are donated to a local charity and the process starts over the following month. Hope you can participate!

For the safety of all of our children and families, First Environments must insist that you do not leave your car running in the parking lot at arrival or pick-up. Please refer to the Parking section of the Parent Handbook for more information.
As a reminder, children can never be left unaccompanied during either morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up. Please make sure your child is with you at all times and is not in the lobby, hallways, classrooms, or playground areas without your supervision. It is for the safety and security of the children that the state of North Carolina has established these policies for our school, and we appreciate your help with this.

When the Heat index is 95 – 99 degrees:
